Delicious! love the jusuit and tea! Friendly, but sometimes seating can be an issue, this little bakery has great treats! Also try the quiche or French dip! The best!

Great food, but very slow. Also the service is typically French, in that it's not very welcoming. That being said, they are one of the best breakfast options in the area, and open the earliest. It's the perfect place to go if you're in no rush and want a superb breakfast sandwich. Everything I've had there so far has been delicious, healthy, and fresh. Great quiet atmosphere, and very relaxing.

Great place to go for a cup of tea and a fresh baked pastry. They also make some really good sandwiches. Everything is fresh and delicious, and served with a smile. The desserts always look irresistible, so be warned.

GENEROUS PORTION OF FRENCH FRIES AND GOOD SIZED FRENCH DIP! I love the croissants as well.. Reminds me of days spent at the promenade after school..

Y U M . Mushroom and feta quiche was yummy. Salmons crepe was yummy. Berry bowl was...yummy. Good coffee americano. Sat outside--it was really pleasant. Only wish I had room for a pastry! Well, next time.

So I decided to come here on a whim not really knowing what they even served. It's not all that.... I order the Chicken Pesto with fries, and it was good but not delicious or anything special, just food. They took a bit to bring it out to me, but they were pretty busy, it was around lunch time so that's fine. Cashier and servers weren't too friendly.

Our first time here. This place is very upscale and there is a case filled with beautiful pastries. My daughter and I came in this morning to get something quick and to go. I chose a spinach quiche . It was the best I've ever had! Hot , fresh, delicious , and fluffy. I also tasted my daughters sandwich and it was also very good . We will definitely be back!

  • Alison G.

The pastries are tasty but the hot food is not good. I've been here multiple times thinking maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Nothing is good besides the pastries. The eggs are microwaved, the quiche is runny, the French toast is burnt, the sandwiches are greasy, and the potatoes are just ok. The coffee was not even luke warm, which is a big deal if you're a bakery. The staff is nice, a bit on the slow side.

This nice cafe delivers a unique twist to sandwiches, salads, and soups. The soups (3 per day) are tasty, the salads and quiches are a nice size, and the sandwiches are very good. Take a leap and try the curry french salad dressing. It might sound odd, but it has a very unique flavor.

Had almond croissant and chai latte. Almond croissantvwas not fresh and the chai Luke warm. Based on the prices..not worth it.

I've never had anything here that has disappointed. I love their strawberry and creme crepes for something sweet, and their French fries are perfectly crispy. My friends love the French dip. It's a nice location and convenient for whenever we're stopping in Westlake.

I just left this place and was told I couldn't order anything because they closed in 15 minutes. I asked if I could order a soup and she told me no because the cooks needed to get off work soon so they are no longer serving food. I got there 15 minutes before they even closed and still got denied service. I just think that's pretty rude since I wasted my time driving over there to get food. I won't be going back there.

Really nice ambiance and decor. The portion sizes are huge and very filling. I had the curry chicken salad croissant sandwich and it was so exotic and tasty. The curry chicken salad contained raisins and almonds which gave great flavor and texture. And with your meal, you can choose either fries, green salad, potato salad or pasta salad. I'll definitely come back.

Like the decor. Like the flair of the outdoor seating. Did not like my arugula quinoa salad with chicken and the bitchy attitude it came with today. It was bland and though I ate it up because I was hungry & it was healthy nonetheless, I could have tossed together a better salad by stopping at Fresh'n'easy. And that would not have cost me 15$. Not impressed.

Breakfast crepes were very nice. Coffee high quality. Friendly service. Bought a sweet roll to go. Also very good.

Had a pain au chocolat here yesterday, it was pretty stale which is strange since it was only 8:15am. Went to Pain Quotidian this morning and their pain au chocolats were much better, I'd recommend going there instead!

I just had hot tea here, love the Mighty Leaf teas, BUT they used regular tap water that had some sort of chemical taste so my tea was NOT delicious. My friend ordered the goat cheese salad which she liked, but then again, she likes this place. I thought Champagne was lacking, should have been named The Tap Water French-esque Bakery and Sandwich Shoppe. It sounds like a cute idea--French cafe, but the execution was inattentive American. Girls behind the counter were sweet, but the tables were dirty and the heat was up to 90 degrees. Hard to breathe and lackluster everything.

    (2)
  • Pat Z.

I ordered Quiche Lorraine and they brought me the Spinach and goat cheese, which was good but not what I orderd. The salad that came with it was just lettuce, nothing else with a side of dressing, not sure what kind. What I really objected to was the cleanliness. All the tables were busy or dirty. The dishes was gone, but they hadn't been wiped off. The woman's bathroom could use a good cleaning and freshening as in painting. The tile floor was sticky and dirt was all around the edges.. Door was dirty. It doesn't take much to wipe down a door.

The food is okay. But the fat male server/cashier at night is rude and ridiculaous. Don't go there at night.

  • Al L.

Had a beef sandwich and the beef was way too rare; brown around the edges only, tasteless. the salad came with a dressing which was yellow orange and way too vinegary. I left almost all of it. If I go back it will only be to try the bakery items. I think the rest is awful!

My roommate and I are on an epic journey to find a great breakfast/brunch place in the area. This place is pretty good. Friendly service, variety of breakfast foods in large portions, cooked well, all with a side of what I imagine to be French cafe music. All in all, a relaxing brunch place to enjoy all things eggs! :)

  • Patrick N.

I used to come here regularly to have breakfast with friends. The best part is definitely the unlimited refills on coffee. Their pastries are pretty good, but I also recommend the Curry Chicken Salad Croissant. Oddly, this place has REALLY good french fries. I definitely recommend getting them on the side of a sandwich. While this place isn't exactly gourmet or fancy, it's definitely a great place to go every once in a while for breakfast, if for no other reason than the coffee.

This was a great choice I found by searching through Yelp for places to go in Westlake Village. Such a yummy and savory selection. They also have all day breakfast which is a huge plus. The quiche is super yummy along with any panini. Will be going back again to try more!!

As good as it gets and so close to home. The large cappuccino is huge. I had a spinach pastry for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. My daughter had the crepe with nutella and strawberries. The crepe was warm we wished it would have been hot. Great little spot.

Yummy Quiche! Four of went for a light dinner and we were all delighted with the quiche. It is a decent size portion (I actually didn't finish it all as it is rich and filling), and comes with a perfect side salad. All four plates arrived with hot, fresh quiche, and cold, crisp salad. Since we were there just after 6:00pm, the bakery case didn't have much in it. I ordered an almond croissant and was too full to eat it, so I figured I'd enjoy it the next morning with coffee. While it was tasty, the bread part was rock hard, literally. Definitely more than one day old. I would go back for the quiche, not for the bakery.

Lunch with the family. Enjoyed a salad and a Croque Monsieur. Both were decent. Neither really made us jump for joy. The potato salad featured perfectly cooked potato but was bland. Consider seasoning a bit more! Overal lunch was enjoyable and we'd certaily eat at Champagne again.

Everything looks really pretty in the case but lacks on taste. I'd stick with the basics. Gourmet, it is not. The staff was hardworking but the ladies room was dirty.

The food here was great!! The crepes were delicious and the pastries lookd amazing!! They had a large menu and great breakfast and lunch options. Service was not the best, but maybe it was an off day?

  • Staci F.

Love this little spot! i usually go for the tuna sandwich but they have great salads and crepes as well. And then after, treat your self with one of there amazing pastries like the most flavorful jesuits!! They have amazing french dressing that i crave. If your craving a good french spot for lunch and don't want to spend a fortune, this is your spot. We go to the one in the westlake promenade and sit outside.

  • Kathleen C.

I would give this place five stars except that they routinely forget items i.e salad dressing, bread etc when you order to go. Otherwise the food is amazing!!!! The chicken pesto sandwich is to die for as is the Cobb salad. I have never been disappointed in anything I have ordered.. Just check your bag before you leave!

  • Trev W.

Stopped by here before a movie. Really slow service, we waited over 20mins for just our coffee and we were the only people in the store. The coffee unfortunately taste like it had been burnt to a crisp and I was unable to finish it. The food we ordered had uncooked meat and the salad looked like it had been sitting out for days. This is a really short review and very unlike my other reviews, however I can not recommend coming here. I see the concept and direction the owners are taking but first and last time for me. (Maybe it was a off day for this cafe)

Always love this place, for lunch anytime or just sit down for coffee or something. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Its a beautiful place in the Westlake Village Promenade shopping center, always clean and polished. Love theThis location is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. and then they will bring the food to your table. The employees are friendly and are good about cleaning up the empty tables. There are plenty of places to sit and even some outdoor seating. I would return if I happen to be in the area. water fountains.

What a pleasant little bakery! This little spot in the Promenade is a really enjoyable spot to eat lunch and grab coffee. I ordered the smoked salmon crepe, which quite delicious. It was loaded with soft goat cheese and spinach, and the smoked salmon was tasty and generous. My colleagues ordered various sandwiches and salads, and were overall satisfied with their purchases. The staff was really friendly and attentive as well. I really liked their outdoor seating as it was plentiful and the chairs were really cool (I get caught up on little things like that...). A pretty solid lunch/brunch/coffee option in Westlake Village, I can see myself coming back here soon.

Really like this place, the staff usually are cold :/ I'd say change the employees... the food is awesome I love the feel of the look of the restaurant. I get the chicken salad sandwich with fries I been wanting to go back to get a cappuccino, with some sort of dessert because they look excellent.

Beautiful bakery on promenade. We love to come here in the weekends in the evening. Love their coffee, the quiches, croissants, crepes and pastries. Excellent staff lots of place to sit outside. The decor is warm and comfortable. My wife loves the Napolean, beautiful crust on the outside and fresh cream on the inside, not too sweet yet very delicious. I like their French onion soup. There is a live band playing just outside of the cafe. It's just a beautiful place to unwind sip on your coffee and relax. We usually catch a movie at the Cinepolis theatre next door. Over a very pleasant experience. They also have a wide choice of savory as well as sweets and not very expensive. So if you are around that area and in mood for some French delicacies, try them out. We love it, hopefully you will too.

(+) Plenty of outdoor seating, prime people watching area. (+) Lots of baked goods and treats, good place for dessert after a movie. (-) Food just okay, garlic chicken panini was fine. Fries were blah. They're FRENCH fries and it's a French bakery! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (-) The prices remind you that you're in Westlake Village. $$-$$$

  • Vivian C.

Came here straight from the movie. This was a little French Cafe with patio sittings, next to Cinepolis. I used to come here morning for the pastries many years ago. Today I ordered Simon Quiche which is too salty for me. and a cup of French Onion soup which wasn't hot enough for the day. I enjoy a little me myself this afternoon; no rush. I enjoy the music played acoustic guitar. Food is ok, no warm greeting I expected is ok, no wait staff service is ok...

First time eating here. I went for one of their popular sandwiches being the croissant. Consisted on cheese, eggs and bacon with potatoes on the side. I went during lunch so the portions were as big as I thought they'd be. Over all I was very satisfied with my meal. Had a quick bite before watching a movie right next door at Cinepolis Luxury Theater!

Several weeks ago had a mixed experience. Suggested to friends that we meet here for dessert after having dinner elsewhere. We arrive about 20 minutes before closing time. The selection of delectable desserts was still decently stocked, so we had a good selection from which to choose. Here's where it got weird. There was one gentleman behind the counter, and a number of patrons lined up to order. He kept going into the back repeated times during the course of each order. That was odd. And he started out not by offering a greeting, but rather with a negative statement, "We're closing soon, so it's take out only." As we each faced the display case, we had questions on the pastries. He distractedly answered and wasn't outright rude, but wasn't very helpful or gracious, either. Our friends were giving us the eyebrow like, "What is going on here?!" It's always awkward when you recommend a place and the experience tanks. After all the drama to place our respective orders, we adjourned outside to the patio to eat. The pastries were very light and delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness - no cloying sugary taste. Mine was a mango cake. Would order it again. All my companions enjoyed their selections, too. We laughed about the cashier making us feel like we were in Paris - snobby treatment for the Americans. ;-) I don't think he was French though, just channeling his surroundings? Will give a generous pass to that man who was overwhelmed / out of his element as closing time neared and apparently no other help available. The quality of the desserts, along with the very fair price tag (take note, Erewhon Market!!!) makes this a place we'll return.

i don't know what possessed me to eat here. My husband has tried it a few times and said it was terrible. I walked in and it was empty. That should have been the first clue. I ordered a panini and salad. Food came out very fast. I originally could not decide what to eat so I got a whole panini and a side salad. The panini was not cooked/grilled enough. The bread was soft, no grill marks on it, no melted cheese - generally undercooked dough with no flavor. The salad - dressing on the side tasted day old. Sometimes husbands are right. Not often. Unless I want a sweet pastry - well - at least THOSE looked good .

Ordered their daily special of Eggs Benedict with a Latte. They forgot the Latte and the Benedict had the eggs cooked well done, not poached as they are supposed to be cooked. It took 25 minutes and a reminder to get served the poorly cooked meal. I won't be choosing this place for breakfast again.

I've had the pleasure of visiting some incredibly wonderful bakeries in California and New York, but this, unfortunately, is not one of them. While it presents well (cute décor with yummy looking pastries, I just didn't like them at all. I tried their pain au chocolat, which was an unimpressive, not very flaky, not very buttery (tasting) croissant with an almost microscopic filling of chocolate. Disappointing. I also tried a lemon-iced butter cookie. Again, unimpressed....... very little flavor, boring cookie and icing. I've had MUCH better from elsewhere.

My boss and I decided to grab lunch to go from here the other day. There was nobody in line when we arrived, so we walked right up to the counter and ordered our meals. She ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and I had the combo with the spinach and goat cheese quiche and tomato soup. We stepped aside to wait as others came in behind us. My food was brought out shortly after and we expected hers to come out any minute. After all, I had quiche and soup - it probably just had to be warmed up. 20 minutes later, we were still standing there. There was a girl talking with a table, so as she finished and walked by us, I said, "Excuse me. Is there any way you can - " That was as far as I got in my sentence when I was cut off and yelled at that she was "like, the only one here, ok?!" She then stormed off as my boss stood there in shock. The table she came from called out to let us know she had pulled the same thing with them. I waited tables for over 6 years when I was in my 20's. I don't care if the restaurant is jam-packed and you are actually the only person there (she wasn't, by the way, there was a guy there who had taken our orders and brought our food out), the appropriate response was to, first of all, let me finish my question, then to say something along the lines of, "I'm really sorry about that. I'm the only one out on the floor right now, so if you wouldn't mind, please just give me a minute and I'll be happy to look into that for you." In the service industry, you never snap at a guest like she did. NEVER. Anyway, shortly after being yelled at, we watched the guy who took our order bring out food for others who had arrived after us, then finally he brought out my boss' lunch. We headed back to the office where I proceeded to eat my cold quiche and soup. The flavors were super yummy and my boss said her sandwich was really good too, so I they get a couple of stars for that, but I can't give them any more. It's just really disappointing to have such a horrible experience and have the only reward be cold food.

What I really liked about this restaurant was the great outdoor area to soak up some sun, watch the beautiful people go about their business, and the french fries which were, by far, the star of my meal. I thought the French Dip sandwich ($9+) was fine in terms of flavor. I wonder, though, if the kitchen was rationing the meat. I'm not kidding when I say that serving-size seemed to be a single layer of meat. Tasty enough thanks to the horseradish, but unsatisfying in terms of quantity. I wouldn't call the service particularly attentive either, but perhaps that's the way the French-inspired restaurants do it. Would I go back? Yes, but I think I'd bring my own pizza like the four guys at a neighboring table.

J'adore The Champagne French Bakery. Really cute concept, delicious desserts, and great customer service. Went here for the first time on Friday to kill some time before a movie at Cinepolis and was rather pleased. The atmosphere was quaint, the Napoleon I ordered was delicious, and I was loving the french music playing in the background. I highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for great dessert, and all you can drink coffee :)

Surprised I haven't reviewed this one yet! Been here several times and said to say some of the reviews aren't the best. I have always received good service and never had a bad dish! My favorite is the: Smoked Salmon & Goat Cheese Crepes, With Spinach, Sauteed Onions and Dijon Cream Sauce. You get two and it is very filling, which I like to pair it with onion soup, yum! You can't go wrong with a quiche! The chicken pesto panini was decent, not my favorite of all the choices. I believe the combos are the best deal price wise. I love Chai, not my favorite, not enough spice! But I really enjoy the desserts! My favorite is the trio of bite size pastries. Has custard in all of them but different bits of fruit. Note to get here early if you can for lunch, not many places to sit inside and outside is limited as well. Sit outside if you can on a nice day out. I like place, it has yet to disappointment me. It's between a french bakery with a little americanized twist, but it gets the job done!

We took a chance on this place because it looked appealing from the outside, but boy were we disappointed. We ordered the special, Croque Monsier Sandwich with French Onion Soup. The soup was just "ok", the melted cheese was a bit burned but overall not too terrible. The sandwich (basically a ham & cheese) was so flavorless that my boyfriend actually had to put salt on it. Curious about the desserts, especially because the meringues looked so good, I ordered a coconut meringue and some cream puffs. I could've killed someone if I were to use the meringue as a lethal weapon (it was hard and stale) and the cream puffs were blah, no flavor. It's a shame this place was so terrible, because it could have so much potential. We won't be back unfortunately.

Good food, but the staff are constantly slow, inattentive and unsmiling. In fact, one of the girls that works on the weekend always looks like she wants to beat up the guests.

I actually really enjoyed my experience here before a movie. We grabbed a cappuccino and a couple different sandwiches. The French dip and the curry chicken were wonderful! The sides of potato salad and side salad were almost sad. Yet I had a memorable time this night and this place was apart of a good memory. Therefor I went with a 4 star instead of 3.

This is a cool little bakery near (as in five-ten minute drive) the Renaissance I stayed at...see Agoura Hills. Atmosphere - French bakery, great smells, Gen-Y style staff, glass case, a few tables w/ chairs, and outdoor seating (see photo). Food - I got a lemon tart, cheese brioche, and a blueberry brioche. The lemon tart was great, but the brioches left me wanting another lemon tart. Price - a little pricey ( I forget the exact amount) but it is a nice experience for the price paid. Overall - They had a decent variety for being at the end of the day and I would stop here again if in the area to try some of the other items in the case.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Apparently there are quite a few SoCal locations, but it feels like a family-run local bakery! The pastries are beautiful, first off, but I usually come for coffee&breakfast and lunch. They have breakfast selections all day, which I love, because I work late nights and eat breakfast after 12! It's the most comfortable spot to sit with your coffee and a book. The patio is fabulous. One of the BEST features of this place is the service. I have been going for about 2 years (1 to 3 times a week) and they have always had incredibly nice and accommodating staff. I, seriously, have never had a apathetic greeting from the staff. Way to go guys! Keep up the good work!! It's just a pleasant experience every time I visit :) Oo! And I love that weird orange house dressing.

Not impressed. I went here with a friend on Friday morning after a good workout at the gym. It was around 10:00 am and there were only a few other people inside. The menu had a lot of good options (for a vegetarian) and since I had heard such good things about the place, I was excited to eat. We both ordered a Chai Latte with soy. The women who was working the coffee bar seemed frantic and annoyed with the order. She came across as rude. For breakfast, I ordered a "Mediterranean Vegetable and Fresh Mozzarella" omelette and my friend got a "Breakfast Crepe." The Latte was very good. The food...not so much. When the food was delivered to the table, my order was wrong. The omelet that was brought to me was covered in ham so I knew it was a mistake. The lady who made the coffee was also the one bringing the food and she didn't seem to know how to fix the error. Instead, she kept looking at the plate, at me, and at the ticket. My friend suggested that the omelet might be for another table...it was. Initially the food came to our table quick, however both plates were cold. Cold eggs and potatoes are yucky! On top of that, the food wasn't good. My omelet was flat and tasteless, and the side of potatoes were hard, dry, and tasted like they had been previously frozen. I would never recommend this place and I will not go back.

Great lunch spot! The bread and croissants are fantastic, I love the curry chicken salad on a croissant with the side salad - it's a perfectly sized meal. The desserts are beautiful, I've only tried the lemon cookies and they did not disappoint. Everything is fresh and the quality of ingredients is apparent! Love the daily specials as well.

This is a great little french cafe. You order & pay first, and then they bring the food to you. The menu is consistent, and taste good for the price. It isn't great, but enjoyable. The crepes are good, and the quiche is better. Sandwiches taste good, fries very good. However they shine with the deserts! The almond croissant is amazing. This place continues to survive while others are closing in a location where there are many other options at the same price range. That itself is telling that customers keep coming back.

It's like Panera but MORE DELICIOUS...and more "French". The food is fantastic...a little pricey, but delicious! I had a salad from heaven; the sandwiches are perfection. That French onion soup could not have been more tasty. Salads, soups, sandwiches, all with a casual French cafe flair. My only complaint is the price. The pastries are baked with love and perfect technique. Those merengues are killer...get one!

For the food and Service, I would give this place 3 or 4 stars. I LOVE their french fries. However, The reason for the two star review is becaue I was there about two weeks ago and noticed that they had double charged me. When I told my two co-workers who had lunch with me there, they checked their statements and found they TOO had been double charged. We each called and they assured us all individually that they knew about the issue, that there had been a glitch in their card machine and they were refunding everybody's money within the next 2-4 business days. Well, its been 8 days to be exact and still no refund for me. When I called them this morning, they insisted that they had already refunded my money and told me to call my bank. I will not be returning to this establishment.

CORN CHOWDER !!! The first spoon full in my mouth was heaven ! The crunchiness of sweet corn, the butery milky thick texture, the pepper and the sweetness.IT was a good balance of the corn and the soup ratio. OMG! i wish i can have them deliver gallons of the corn chowder to my house In the bay area. I also had the chicken pesto panini and salad. The dressing on the salad had a twist of curry taste to it. I enjoyed the difference and loved the experience. Everytime I return to Agoura Hills for buisines or pleasure , I wil definetly be back. !

A disappointing breakfast spot. Ordered ham and Swiss crepes. The Swiss cheese was grated on top - not melted or cooked with the ham and eggs. The crepe had zero flavor and the side of red potatoes with raw green onion was awful. The crepes weren't even hot, neither was the coffee. I like the almond croissants here and will stick with those from now on.

Duh, obviously this place is a damn chain and duh, obviously this is not AUTHENTIC French cuisine, but at least it's very French-inspired. I wish people would stop complaining about chains and their lack of authenticity. NO SHIT. Chains appeal to the masses and chains are typically NOT authentic in order to do so. So, for the fact that it's a chain, it's pretty damn good. This particular location is small and quiet. It's a perfect place to go before going to a movie next door or to have a quiet lunch with a friend or significant other. Their salads are good, their sandwiches are good (in particular the french dip is pretty good, yeah, it's not Phillipes but it's good), their soups are good, their pastries are good. This place is consistently good. That's all that really matters in a chain. If you're in the area looking for a nice bite to eat without dealing with a really busy and loud restaurant, give this place a try.

I went for a late lunch on a Sat. I had a bowl of soup and a salad. The soup was good but a bowl of it was too much. And being hung over, I didn't finish my salad but did finish it for dinner and it was still good hours later. My lunch buddy had the same but different thing. Her cup of soup looked small and her salad looked equally good. She finished hers no problem. The inside is small and seating was a bit awkward, they don't clean the tables very often, service seemed a bit frazzled. They weren't THAT busy. I did notice that for a french bakery, they don't even sell like loafs of bread- I found that odd. I think it's more like a french deli? I do think that I saw a celebrity in there- but I couldn't put my name to the face, I looked him up and just aren't sure if it was him or not. He was cute in person and he was just having lunch with his kid and a friend. Oh well. This place was good but will not likely stand out in my memory.

About what I would expect for a strip mall, but this is in the "Promenade" so I would hope for better. However, sitting between La Salsa and Pick up Stix should give some perspective. I always feel awkward walking in. I think it is because I have to walk past all the customers and head to the very very back of the store to place an order. Then if I am getting it to go, there isn't any place to wait where you don't feel that you are in the way. The desserts are pretty good, but the meals do not match the price. The staff are not rude but not friendly. I do appreciate that they have a "No Tips" sign right at the register.

Best salads in Thousand Oaks! I work in the area and have been scouring this area for a good salad (like a meal type of salad) for over a year. This petite "Fronch" bakery offers the best deal for teh best salads I have found. Of particular appeal is the salade Nicoise. It has kept me coming back again and again and again!

Came here for lunch and something I ate there did not agree with my stomach. Ordered the French Dip and either the cheese or the sauce was bad. Never AGAIN!

Glorified Starbucks minus substance. The simple latte I wanted tasted like someone just warmed up baby milk and added flavoring to it.

The Parisian salad is the best salad I've had from a cafe and I always get great service.

The eclair was good, as was the cake. Nothing special, though.

This place is key for good French Coffee and pasteries. My brother got Tarts that were very good and I got a Raspberry Cheese Danish. Cup of large French Roast Coffee for me and double espresso shot of coffee for my bro. Job well done.

Ok, so I think I'm too generous with my stars. From this review on, no more... unless I am completely swept off my chair from a restaurant. This CFB is located in the same shopping center as Bristol Farm's, Barnes and Nobles and the Mann Theater. I went here on a date with myself. I ordered my chicken and fruit salad and an iced tea and then went to Barnes and Noble to buy myself a book while they made my salad. I ended up buying "Grief Girl" (haven't finished it yet!) and when I returned to CFB, my salad and iced tea were waiting for me at a table. I sat there eating my very nutritious AND delicious salad on a hot August day with my passion fruit iced tea... turning page after page. When I finally finished I looked up and noticed the surrounding patrons have completely changed and it was time to go. It was a good lunch for $15.

I have always received great service here, and the food is always good whether it is a weekday lunch, weekend brunch or just picking up croissants for the office in the morning. The prices are about average, seating gets rather limited during the lunch rush. So be prepared. One little problem the chocolate croissants appear to be addictive, my office-mates and I must to have them once a regular basis or there will be a complete revolt.

This bakery does not deserve to have the word "French" in its title. The croissants are terrible--typical american bread shaped into a crescent. I ordered the napolean (mille feuille) at the location at the 405 and Olympic blvd and it was frozen in the middle and had ice crystals in the custard. Obviously not made fresh. If you've had good French pastries and croissants, you will be disappointed with this place.

The only good thing about this place is they way it looks. It is in a good location in the Promenade, and the decor is very charming. You really want to like it, but the food is terrible! Worse, the prices are too high for the quality of food you get. I've given this place several chances and each time they have failed miserably. You would think a French bakery would be able to make crepes, but the crepes here are insulting. The crepes are served frozen, and they load it with this strange tasting cream. I ordered a strawberry crepe. The pathetic thing tasted like it had been sitting in the back of the freezer for weeks before they served it to me. yech. The rest of the pastries look very cute and pretty, but they all taste stale. The sandwiches are equally uninspiring.

BAD, BAD, BAD!!!!!!! We went for brunch with a friend, the coffee drinks were cold there was nothing fresh about the food. The eggs were microwaved and horrible. The grilled veggies were not grilled. The potatoes seemed liked they were cooked days ago and re-heated. I even went to the manager to get something different because my wife found the dish to be not palatable and his only response was " that is one of our most popular dishes" Never again will we go there.

The menu was kind of uncreative. {{boo}} Though I did like the fact that they had all sorts of deserts in the display as you walked in. hmmmm.... creme brulee. {{yay}} I got a grilled chicken panini, but hold the artichoke please, :-b bleck The coffee was good, I stayed away from the french roast (read burned coffee beans) and had the 100% free trade coffee. It was yummy. {{bonus points}}. though they only had sugar in those packets, not a container, which not only is it annoying trying to tear them all open, I like lost o'sugar, and all the waste is counter to my environmentally friendly mind set. {{minus bonus points}} oh, and the coffee cup I got was really freakin' small, so I had to go back four times to fill up. There's tons of parking and other options for food if you're with a mixed group who can't decide on one place. There's seating inside and outside on the sidewalk. {{thumbs up}} The food was nicely prepared, but as a result it took a long time to come out {{thumbs down}} So over all the place was good but not good enough to go out of your way to eat at.
